Senior, Staff Game Provides Hoops And Laughs

The annual Oakdale High School Senior vs. Staff basketball game took place on Wednesday, March 7. The contest featured over 50 senior students competing against Oakdale Unified School District staff members. In a game where the score "does not matter" the staff had more points.

Eighth Grade Lady Rams Claim Hoops Championship

Two years, two championships is not an easy feat at any level. However, for the Oakdale Junior High School girls' basketball team that's exactly what the talented young group did. As seventh grade girls the team went undefeated in 2016-2017 and then as eighth graders the team did it again in 2017-2018.

Oakdale Swims Past Lathrop

In the 2018 season opener Oakdale traveled to Lathrop to take on the Spartans for Valley Oak League swimming action. Both the boys and girls Mustangs teams made short work of the home squads. The girls won 135-34 and the boys claimed a 122-18 victory to open the season 1-0. The meet was held on Friday, March 2.

Mustang Golf Boys Open Season With Home Win

The regular season for the Oakdale boys golf team began on Wednesday, Feb. 28 against Sierra. The season opener took place at Oakdale Golf and Country Club where the Mustangs defeated the Wolves 213-287.

Mustangs Qualify Eight Wrestlers To State Tournament

After the dust settled at Stockton Arena on Saturday evening, Feb. 24, nine Oakdale wrestlers stood on the podium. Out of the nine, an Oakdale High School record eight athletes are advancing to the 2018 CIF State Championship in Bakersfield.

Saturday Fishing Tournament Slated

San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation has 2,000 pounds of trout stocked and ready for catching at Oak Grove Regional Park, with the Bob McMillen Memorial Fishing Tournament set for this Saturday, March 3.

Force, Torrence Take Wins At Arizona Nationals

Steve "Stevo" Torrence took home the event win in Top Fuel, as he marched from his number two qualifying position to defeat Scott Palmer in the final round of the 34th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals. Torrence's Capco Construction dragster ran consistent 3.70 second elapse times, with a 3.69 at 331.36 mph winning effort in the second round of eliminations to take out the number seven qualifier, Blake Alexander. In the final, he took out Palmer's Spot/Capco dragster with a strong 3.729 at 330.72 mph run. It was his 17th career event win.
