LIGHT IT UP

The Corral has always been an eye catcher and now it has a little more aesthetic appeal. This past week Oakdale High School unveiled its new electronic Nevco scoreboard, which will serve the football team for many years to come. With half of the funds coming from the Oakdale High School Sports Boosters Club and the rest from the district, fans on both sides of the stands will be able to enjoy the new scoreboard.

Varsity Mustang Golfers Win Sixth Straight Match

The Oakdale Mustangs boy golfers are coming off an outstanding week and sit at 12-1 at the Spring Break. Oakdale knocked off Sierra and Kimball this past week and are currently tied for first place in the Valley Oak League.

Varsity Softball Girls Corral Timberwolves In VOL Action

In their first home game since being shocked by and falling to Manteca, Oakdale's varsity softball girls defeated visiting Sierra 9-1 on Wednesday, April 5. The Lady Mustangs combined for seven hits and committed no errors in the win.

Oakdale Dominates East Union In April 6 Meet At Corral

Thursday, April 6 Oakdale hosted East Union and the track and field Mustangs made short work of the Lancers. The varsity girls defeated East Union 100-36, the varsity boys won in a lopsided 117-15 decision, and the junior varsity boys and girls took care of business as well.

Varsity Mustang Baseball Boys Sweep Past Spartans

The hits and wins just keep coming for the Oakdale Mustangs varsity baseball team. This past week Oakdale improved to 6-0 in Valley Oak League play after defeating the Lathrop Spartans (3-8-1, 0-3) in a two-game series.

WWE Tickets Available For Live Stockton Show

For the first time since August of 2016, the World Wrestling Entertainment is coming to the 209. Fresh off WrestleMania, the superstars of SmackDown Live will be invading the Stockton Arena on Monday night, May 1. Superstars scheduled to be in action include The Miz, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, AJ Styles, Alexa Bliss, Baron Corbin, Becky Lynch, American Alpha, Shinsuke Nakamura and more.

Strong Performances Lead Mustangs To Swim Wins

Oakdale was active this week in the pool as the team traveled to Lathrop for a dual meet against Sierra and Lathrop in Valley Oak League action. The Lady Mustangs defeated Sierra 129-36 and Lathrop 135-25. For the boys it was Oakdale edging out Sierra 78-75 and winning 100-25 over Lathrop on Thursday, April 6.

Thousands Pack The Stands For Wet, Wild Rodeo Weekend

For more than six decades, the Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo has proven to be the top destination for rodeo goers and competitors alike. Two days of bull riding, barrel racing, roping and beers were enough to keep the large crowd of rodeo fanatics cheering, even during the downpour of rain on Saturday. NHRA Thunders Into The Desert For Nationals

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series thundered into Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the 18th annual Denso Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals over the weekend. The windy, rainy and dusty weather conditions created some ever changing track conditions. This really tested the skills of the crew chiefs and led to some interesting upsets.

Varsity Softball Girls Fall At Home To Manteca

For the first time in nine years, the Oakdale (9-3, 2-1) varsity softball girls lost to Manteca (12-4, 4-1). The last time Oakdale lost to the visiting Buffaloes was March 18, 2008 when the Lady Mustangs fell in a 3-2 decision to the Manteca team. That same year, Oakdale lost on the road to Manteca 6-5 on April 18. Since then Oakdale was 16-0 against Manteca, until Wednesday, March 29 at home.
