On the final night of the 2014 regular season, it was a massive, standing room only crowd that gathered at The Corral to see the Mustangs honor the 25 seniors playing in their final home league game, as well as playing for a share of the Valley Oak League title. Oakdale welcomed Central Catholic, and what appeared to be close a thousand of their fans Friday night, Nov. 7. However, it was the home crowd that had the final roar as they watched their Mustangs thrive in a 48-28 victory.

With playoffs looming, the Oakdale Mustangs varsity boys soccer team needed to make a big push this week. The team entered the week in third place in the Valley Oak League standings. Oakdale hosted Central Catholic and then went on the road to face the Buffaloes of Manteca in a crucial VOL showdown. The Mustangs stood tall and answered the challenge by blanking the Raiders 9-0 and earning a tough 5-2 road victory in Manteca, winning both games for the week.
In the inaugural Friday Night Lights high school football series at Santa Clara's Levi's Stadium, two of the premier Valley Oak League contenders clashed on Saturday, Oct. 11 as the Oakdale Mustangs battled it out with the Manteca Buffaloes. Not only did the Mustangs win, the victory saw a record-setting effort, as Mustang senior Frankie Trent scored six touchdowns and rushed for over 200 yards, setting a Levi's Stadium record.
Friday night's Homecoming game was a true crowd pleaser for the Mustang faithful, as the Oakdale varsity football team dominated the visiting Weston Ranch Cougars, 48-0. It was a satisfying end to a festive week of activities celebrating the fall homecoming.
Oakdale High School senior Mabel Wong, 17, already has plenty of kudos to her credit on the links. The young golfer has been a part of the First Tee program, played for the OHS ladies golf team and now, she took her talents to the Pebble Beach Golf Course for the 2014 Nature Valley First Tee Open.

It was a mixed week for the varsity tennis team, as the girls faced a pair of Valley Oak League (VOL) teams, suffering a tough 5-4 loss to Manteca on Tuesday, Sept. 23. They regrouped and earned a 7-2 victory over Weston Ranch on Thursday, Sept. 25.
The 2014 Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach is this weekend, Sept. 26 through 28 and at least one local golfer will be on the links. Fans and spectators will be treated to viewing celebrities, pro golfers, most likely enjoy great weather and also get to see local golf phenom, Mabel Wong.
