OHS Girls Claim 8th Consecutive VOL Track Title

Fantastic depth and strong individual performances from Oakdale High's varsity girls track team carried the program to yet another standout collective performance as the Mustang's edged VOL stalwart, Sierra, on April 26. The win carried Oakdale to an eighth straight conference title and incredible 58th straight conference dual meet win. Oakdale Wrestlers Claim Divisional Championships

To say this has been a dominant season for the OHS varsity wrestling team would be an understatement. This season the team claimed its ninth consecutive Valley Oak League title, the eighth consecutive Sac-Joaquin Section title and the momentum has carried into the Sac-Joaquin Division III Divisionals.

Junior Varsity Girls Take VOL Title

The future appears bright for OHS girls' basketball, as the 2014-2015 junior varsity girls wrapped up the season undefeated with a perfect 14-0 Valley Oak League record. Led by second year head coach Julie Ford, the team bought into her coaching philosophy and put it to work on the court, showing up every day and practicing and playing hard and playing for each other. If the term "Dynasty" can be used after three titles, should we consider the Oakdale High School Mustangs varsity wrestling team a "Tri-Dynasty"? Wednesday night Jan. 28 the Mustangs hosted undefeated Central Catholic in a clash of unbeatens to decide the 2015 Valley Oak League championship. The Mustangs overcame a slow start to the evening to run wild on the Raiders to win 51-15 to claim their ninth consecutive VOL championship.

Mustang Basketball Boys Fizzle Over Weekend

First place team in the Valley Oak League (VOL), the Sierra Timberwolves, paid a visit to Oakdale High School on Saturday night, Jan. 24 in a varsity boys basketball game. The undersized Mustangs took the court and were over powered, over matched and overwhelmed, as the Wolves clawed their way through the Mustangs 58-18.

Varsity Mustang Boys Corral First VOL Win Of Season

After a lackluster performance on Tuesday, Jan. 13 against visiting Weston Ranch, the Oakdale varsity basketball boys saddled up and put on their best performance of the young season. Coming off the embarrassing 68-23 home loss against Weston Ranch, Oakdale gathered its first Valley Oak League win of the campaign with a 66-55 home win over East Union on Thursday, Jan. 15.

Oakdale Varsity Boys Fall In Rotary Classic Consolation

The 45th annual Oakdale Rotary Classic came to a close on Monday night, Dec. 29. The three-day basketball tournament featured eight local schools, including the host school Mustangs. Oakdale's varsity boys finished the tournament with a record of 1-2. The Mustangs fell to Hughson in the first round Friday night, bounced back to defeat Los Banos on Saturday, and then fell to Grace Davis in the consolation game on Monday night, 71-63.
