Baseball Team Continues Racking Up VOL Wins

The hits, and wins, just keep coming for the Oakdale varsity Mustangs baseball team. Oakdale (17-6, 8-3) extended their impressive winning streak to eight after knocking off Central Catholic (13-10, 7-4) by a 4-1 final on Wednesday, May 4. This is the longest winning streak since the 2014 season when the team had won six straight league games.

Oakdale Athletes Run All Over Central Catholic

Oakdale's track and field teams turned in impressive performances against Central Catholic on Thursday, April 28 at home. Lopsided victories by all four levels of competition capped off the day for the Mustangs. In the process, Oakdale's varsity girls posted their 91st consecutive league win and even saw a new school record set on the day.

Mixed Results For Swimmers At VOL Meet

Oakdale hosted the 2016 Valley Oak League Swimming Championship on Saturday, April 30. Nine schools invaded the Oakdale Aquatic Center for the annual event. Oakdale's junior varsity girls took first place with a total of 111 points, 15 points over the second place Manteca Buffaloes. Oakdale's varsity girls team finished in third with a total of 90 points on the day, Ripon swam away with the competition at 164 points. The Mustang varsity boys posted a fifth place finish earning 40 points on the day.

Mustangs Basketball Host Summer Camps

Oakdale varsity boys basketball coach Hondo Arpoika and company are hosting a youth basketball camp this summer. From Tuesday, May 31 through Friday, June 3 students from third to ninth grade are invited to participate in the camp at the main gym at Oakdale High School. The camp will focus on offensive and defensive fundamentals along with scrimmages.

Soccer Girls Battling For Postseason Berth

What a difference a week makes. After dishing out back-to-back shutouts a week ago to get back into playoff contention, the varsity Oakdale Lady Mustangs soccer team's playoff hopes took a hard hit this past week. Oakdale tied the first place Sierra Wolves 3-3 on Monday, April 25 and fell short 2-1 on the road to Manteca.

Mustangs Continue Strong Push To Postseason

As the end of the 2016 season rapidly approaches, the Oakdale Mustangs varsity baseball team find themselves in contention for the Valley Oak League championship. This past week the Mustangs (16-6, 7-3) extended their winning streak to seven after taking a pair from Sierra (10-9, 4-6). Oakdale is currently sitting in second place in the VOL following their 6-0 and 11-7 victories over the Wolves.

Lady Mustangs Add Two More To Win Column

The varsity softball team continued their winning ways as the girls picked up two more victories in league play this past week. Oakdale (17-1, 11-1) turned in two dominating performances as the girls defeated Lathrop 11-0 and Sierra 20-3.

Track Teams Continue Their VOL Dominance

The Oakdale varsity girls continue to make history as they won their 90th consecutive VOL dual meet with a defeat of Manteca, 108-20, in Manteca on Thursday, April 21. Helping the girls continue their winning streak were Melody Johnson as she took both the 100 and 300 hurdles. Johnson's times were 16.59 for the 100 and 51.71 for the 300 hurdles. Long Ball Powers Softball Girls Past Foes

Three games, three victories and six more home runs hit for the Oakdale Lady Mustangs varsity softball squad. Coming off a difficult road loss to East Union, the girls regrouped and rattled off three straight victories in dominant fashion. Oakdale first took their frustration and aggression out on the Jaguars with a 16-1 road win in Kimball (3-15, 2-7).
