Athlete of the Week - OHS Golf

Since the prep golf season has an early postseason, Oakdale High's boys golf team had the first chance of any Spring program on campus to secure a Sac-Joaquin Section title. Jones Qualifies For NorCals

Oakdale High senior golfer Ryan Jones carded a 70-stroke performance at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton on Monday at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Championships. The effort allowed him to finish as the No. 2 individual to qualify for the NorCal Championships on May 21. Hardware Handed Out For OHS Football Honors

Families, friends and fans of Oakdale High School football gathered at the OHS gym on Monday night Jan. 19 to watch players from all three teams receive end of the season awards. Mustang Basketball Boys Fizzle Over Weekend

First place team in the Valley Oak League (VOL), the Sierra Timberwolves, paid a visit to Oakdale High School on Saturday night, Jan. 24 in a varsity boys basketball game. The undersized Mustangs took the court and were over powered, over matched and overwhelmed, as the Wolves clawed their way through the Mustangs 58-18.

Varsity Mustang Boys Corral First VOL Win Of Season

After a lackluster performance on Tuesday, Jan. 13 against visiting Weston Ranch, the Oakdale varsity basketball boys saddled up and put on their best performance of the young season. Coming off the embarrassing 68-23 home loss against Weston Ranch, Oakdale gathered its first Valley Oak League win of the campaign with a 66-55 home win over East Union on Thursday, Jan. 15.

Oakdale Varsity Boys Fall In Rotary Classic Consolation

The 45th annual Oakdale Rotary Classic came to a close on Monday night, Dec. 29. The three-day basketball tournament featured eight local schools, including the host school Mustangs. Oakdale's varsity boys finished the tournament with a record of 1-2. The Mustangs fell to Hughson in the first round Friday night, bounced back to defeat Los Banos on Saturday, and then fell to Grace Davis in the consolation game on Monday night, 71-63.

Mustangs Hold Off Falcons For Home Win

On a cold, damp night outside, the varsity boys were making it rain three's inside the Oakdale High School gym on the basketball court. The varsity Mustangs knocked down four treys to help lift them to a 57-52 victory over visiting Atwater on Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Sonora, Riverbank Claw Their Way Past Oakdale

It was a rough night for the Lady Mustangs overall as teams at all three levels – freshmen, junior varsity and varsity teams lost to longtime rivals, the Sonora Wildcats on Dec. 19. Even though Sonora is no longer in the Valley Oak League, there was that midseason atmosphere when the teams clashed in a non-league preseason girls' varsity basketball game in Oakdale. The youngest Lady Mustangs fell 57-19 and the JV team tumbled, 60-23 against the visitors.

Wrestlers Grapple To Second Place Showing In Bakersfield

Though still missing plenty of team members – continuing with their football season – the Oakdale High School wrestling team packed its gym bags and headed down south to Bakersfield for the weekend's annual Rumble for the Rig tournament. OHS claimed second place out of 20 top wrestling schools from throughout the state. Oakdale had many standouts including four first place finishers, a pair of second place finishers and three others finishing in the top five.
