With some of the toughest rodeo animals in the west and cowboys of the same caliber, the 61st annual Oakdale Rodeo promises competition, thrills, and a showcase for some of the top rodeo riders.
From the well-worn saddles, riding and ranching photos, cowboy hats and other memorabilia crowding the walls to the battered doors and long wooden bar, the H-B Saloon is rated by many the best cowboy bar in California and has long been associated with the Oakdale Rodeo that happens each year just a little further east along F Street from the establishment.
For those who'd like to get a taste of the Oakdale Rodeo, the arena action is the main course but it isn't the only treat to enjoy. At the west end of the arena near the entrance, rodeo fans can find rows of vendors offering food, western wear and décor, cutlery, candles, sunglasses, "bling-bling," and the ever-popular mechanical bull.
The 61st Annual Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo will undoubtedly deliver trademark excitement to rodeo fans across the state, but showcases extra kick as part of the mix in 2012.
