With dry winds forecast for many parts of Northern California, CAL FIRE has increased its staffing and is urging the public to be extra cautious due to the heightened fire danger. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning stretching form Shasta County down through the Sacramento Valley to San Joaquin County starting Friday morning for high winds and low humidity lasting through Saturday evening.

Representative Jim Costa, D-16, spoke to the California Dairy Campaign board of directors and membership to discuss the farm bill, ethanol policy, immigration and water issues at the CDC office in Turlock.

They will be freshmen at OHS in August and celebrated the closing chapter of junior high in front of family and friends at a packed Corral on Thursday night, May 23.

Your reporter attended the Valley Home Joint School District Graduation on Tuesday evening May 21, 2013. The ceremony held in the school multi-purpose room was quite pleasant and the attractive decoration plants were provided by the Knudsen Nursery. The traditional processional music, Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance brought the fifteen graduates to chairs at the front. Ciara Mitchell, Juana Glover and Juan Cabrera lead the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by a welcome from School Superintendent Mrs. Desrosiers-Lewis.
