Area Gasoline Prices Show Slight Decline

Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have fallen 2.8 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.86/gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. This compares with the national average that has fallen 1.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.45/gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Draft Rail Plan Supports Amtrak, ACE Expansion

Caltrans has released its Draft 2018 State Rail Plan, which features near-term improvements for the two services managed by the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission (SJRRC), Amtrak San Joaquins and Altamont Corridor Express (ACE). The Draft 2018 State Rail Plan will help guide the state's priorities for rail investments that will support California's economy for future generations. Caltrans' goal is to provide riders with more travel options that are more efficient, cleaner, faster, and have fewer delays.

With the annual Veterans' Day services fast approaching, one Oakdale resident is concerned about the deterioration she is seeking at Fish Memorial Park in the west end of Oakdale. Linda Medeiros said she has watched the park go slowly downhill, with no one to tend to the plants, take care of the weeds and generally care for the park. Knights Ferry School had a very busy week! On Thursday, they hosted Roberts Ferry for volleyball and flag football games and on Friday, the entire school put their running shoes on for the annual jogathon fundraiser!
