High-Flying Rodeo Success

From the nearly perfect weather to well-attended events throughout the week, Oakdale's 63rd annual PRCA Rodeo culminated with a fast-paced weekend of competition. All Around champion at the Oakdale Saddle Club-sponsored rodeo was Elko, Nevada resident Dakota Eldridge. He earned the title and the championship buckle, finishing in the money in both steer wrestling and tie down roping.

It was as close to a playoff atmosphere as a game in April can be, as the varsity Mustangs approached the midway point to a promising baseball season. Approximately 150 fans made their way to the ballpark to watch the Mustangs host the Buffaloes of Manteca this past week. Spring has officially sprung and the weather was perfect for a round of nine hole golf action at Oakdale's Golf and Country Club on Tuesday afternoon, April 8. Interim City Manager Stan Feathers announced on Nov. 5 that retired Waterford City Administrator Chuck Deschenes has joined the city's management team as an interim operations manager. Fish attractants have been used in some form or another for many years. In the middle 1980s I can remember there being a big interest in fish attractants as several major tackle manufacturers added fish attractants to their product line.
