Much like our youth sports teams the commitment is huge and it is usually a total family commitment! Free Fishing Day Is Saturday, July 5

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) invites all Californians to celebrate summer by fishing this Saturday. July 5 is the first of two Free Fishing Days in 2014, when people can try their hand at fishing without having to buy a sport fishing license. Free Fishing Days are also a great opportunity for licensed anglers to introduce non-angling friends and children to fishing and the outdoors.

Knights Ferry News June 11, 2014

Knights Ferry School held its Graduation on June 3rd on the front of the school overlooking the river valley and town. Charlee Birdsong rang the bell to start the program. The eighth Graders processed in and then Kaeli Sweet led the Flag salute and Alyssa Sisco led the "Star Spangled Banner". Speaker for the evening was Natalie Brockman, Paraprofessional and Band/ Music instructor. Graduates were Mario Aries, Jose Garcia, Sergio Garcia, Aleesha harden, Clay Heffington, Lindsey Largent, Alondra Machado, Julia Nilsson, Ray Patton, Jordan Proch, Kylee Sisco, Julian Velasquez and Megan Willis.

All-American Honors For Decathlete Brunk

Oakdale High alum John Brunk made his final day as a member of the Chico State Track & Field team a memorable one at the NCAA DII Track and Field National Championships, earning a spot on the All-America podium in the decathlon. Competing in 10 events over two days, Brunk posted personal bests in the 110-meter hurdles, the 1,500-meter run (with a winning time of 4:23.90), and matched his personal record in the pole vault, clearing 15-01.
