HAROLD POPE

Harold Pope went to be with his Heavenly Father, Monday, October 31, 2016. He is survived by June, his loving wife of 65 years, daughters, Sandy Mercer and Barbara Aker, son Keith Pope, eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his daughter Cheryl Hayes.

CATHERINE A. SZAKMARY

Catherine was born on December 13, 1927, in Queens, New York. She moved out West, making Oakdale her home for the past twenty years. She is survived by her children James Szakmary (Janet) of Lake Ronkonkama, NY, Gary Szakmary (Cathy) of Buffalo, NY, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, one brother Patrick Lyons of Auburn, CA, nieces Kathleen Jenkins (Lester), Oakdale, CA, Elizabeth Farkas, Oakdale, CA, and nephew Joseph Farkas (Sirleigh), Dublin CA. She was preceded in death by her husband Bruno Szakmary and siblings Thomas Lyons, William Lyons and Elizabeth A. Farkas.

ROGER LUNDGREN

Roger Lundgren, lifelong resident of Oakdale, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2016 at the age of 76. Roger is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol and their two sons, Roger Jr. and Scott. Roger grew up hunting and fishing with his father Kenneth, who was a local Barber, and his brothers and uncles. His mother Nellie was a Nurse at the nearby Oak Valley Hospital. Roger was employed by Hersheys Chocolate in Oakdale for 38 years, where he worked several different positions and had many friends. He enjoyed horse riding and horsemanship activities. TORBEN (TOBY) TORNGREN

Torben (Toby) Torngren was born in 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Danish parents who immigrated to the U.S a year before. At the age of 17, he joined the Army and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany. There, he met his future German wife, Maya, to whom he was married for 64 years.
