Annual Holiday Food Effort Sees Success

Thanks to the generosity of Raley's customers, employees and community partners, Raley's Food For Families annual holiday bag campaign surpassed its goal by nearly 50 percent, raising 2.9 million pounds of food in Northern California and Northern Nevada. The total, raised from Nov. 7 through Dec. 31, is among the highest in recent years and set a new bar for 2015.

Theresa Kay Schovanec was born March 15, 1954 in Bakersfield, CA to Aairon and Ida Bell McBride. She passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 unexpectantly in Perry, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years old. Theresa grew up in Tehachapi, CA and later moved to Knights Ferry, CA, where she raised her daughter. In the year of 2008 she met her soul mate and moved to Perry Oklahoma. Welcome Holiday Benefit Continues For Drivers

Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have fallen 7.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.48/gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. There was a very large turnout for the Feast put on by the Junior High students of Knights Ferry School. The tables were decorated with fall leaf placemats and turkeys and fall trees made of paper bags. Kaeli Sweet and Rilyn Cassaretto liked decorating the tables. Students Learning Through Service

Cy Cole, founder and Director of Oakdale Academy, recently offered his students an opportunity to combine service and education. The most recent application came in the way of sharing the story of a Waterford couple in need of assistance. As a follow-up to the students spending time serving, they were asked to recount the experience in an article, as if writing for a newspaper.
