Gift Buying Study Reveals Holiday Desires, Spending

FatWallet.com, the savings resource for millions of online deal hunters, recently announced results of its 2016 Holiday Gift Buying Survey. The study reports that 70 percent of parents plan to spend the same or more buying gifts for their children this year (men will outspend women), and 70 percent said getting the best deals is the most important factor when buying holiday gifts online while 59 percent said free shipping.

Fan Bus Heading To State Game

Oakdale Soccer Boys Drop Two; Girls Win

Coming off their big week where the team took first place in the Pitman Tournament, the Oakdale varsity boys soccer team dropped two of three games this past week. Oakdale defeated visiting Franklin on Tuesday night 3-2 but stumbled in their other two games. The Mustangs lost 1-0 to Central Valley and 2-1 to Livingston.

Varsity, JV Basketball Girls Win Road Games

The varsity girls basketball team is off to a nice start with their latest win coming on Tuesday, Dec. 6 in their lone game of the week. Oakdale knocked off Riverbank 58-28 for their fourth straight win to start the season. Leading the way for Oakdale were Sara Bohrer and Zoe Gillen who scored 14 points each. Oakdale had four players in double digits as Maddy Brewer scored 11 and Grace Higle put in 10 for the Lady Mustangs. As the weather outside is cold and damp, inside the Oakdale Main Gym things are starting to heat up. Oakdale Mustang basketball season is underway and all three boys teams are off to early season success.
