Fishing Report

Fish attractants have been used in some form or another for many years. In the middle 1980s I can remember there being a big interest in fish attractants as several major tackle manufacturers added fish attractants to their product line. I can remember one specific brand that comes to mind "Bait mate," it was in a liquid form with a consistency that was similar to vegetable oil. One quick spray of this supposedly would create a feeding frenzy. Every major fishing show started to endorse the use of fish attractants and anglers followed accordingly. High-Flying Rodeo Success

At Public School's Night, the Masons announced the winners of the essay contest. The students wrote on why the Masons were involved in Public Schools. First Place winners received a check for $50.00. They were 6th grade- Braden Sousa, 7th grade- Alyssa Sisco and 8th grade- Julia Nilsson. Second Place winners received a check for $25.00. Screening Of ‘Chasing Ice’ Planned

The Modesto Junior College Civic Engagement Project (CEP) invites the community to a screening of the documentary film "Chasing Ice" on Thursday, April 17, at 7p.m. in Forum 110 on East Campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto. Reclamation Increases Stanislaus River Flows

Beginning on Monday, April 14 the Bureau of Reclamation began increasing releases from Goodwin Dam into the Stanislaus River to benefit Stanislaus River steelhead and San Joaquin River Chinook salmon. Goodwin Dam is located downstream from Tulloch Dam and New Melones Dam and Reservoir, features of the Central Valley Project.
