Signups for Beginning or Advanced Elementary Band in the Oakdale Joint Unified School District takes place tonight, Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at Sierra View Elementary School, 1323 East J St., Oakdale. The signups are for fifth and sixth graders throughout the entire school district.
In California schools, a student's gender identity, not their biological sex, will determine whether or not they participate in girls or boys activities and sports, as well as which restroom they use due to a bill recently signed into law.

"Python Ron" Mcgee will be at the Oakdale Library, today, Tuesday, July 16 at 10:30a.m. and 12p.m. showing off an assortment of his reptilian friends and sharing various educational facts and information about them. Python Ron will be dressed in his safari attire and will give children a chance to see the exotic reptiles up close and personal. They will also be able to touch some of the reptiles.
