Test scores in the Oakdale Joint Unified School District are good, according to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum Barbara Shook when she delivered an overview of the 2010 Accountability Progress Report for the district to the Board of Trustees at the Oct. 11 regular meeting.

Victoria Kempton, a fifth grader at Magnolia Elementary School, is home and recovering from her injuries sustained in a serious bicycle accident on a steep grade on Oak Avenue on Monday, Sept. 20. The 10-year-old was medi-flighted directly to UC Davis Hospital due to concerns for possible brain injury because of a skull fracture and swelling.
Homecoming is just days away, on Friday, Oct. 1, and students from each class at Oakdale High School kicked off Homecoming Week with the painting of windows on downtown businesses on Saturday, Sept. 25. The windows reflect the Disney theme with each grade levels' individual Disney movie theme.
The Oakdale Irrigation District's 2010 irrigation season will officially end on its 17th rotation on Sept. 30 and the 2011 irrigation season will then begin, with unanimous approval by the district's Board of Directors at the Sept. 21 regular meeting. The final irrigation of this year will be at the end of a 12-day rotation at midnight on Tuesday, Oct. 12.
