Marg-Ins - Welcome To Animal Farm

And so the menagerie grows. Despite my best intentions, we seem to continue to add more pets to the household. Perhaps it is because I have long wanted to be a volunteer at the Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center – I love animals – but haven't found the time to fit it in to my schedule.

Marg-Ins - Never A Dull Moment

As September gives way to October, the weather - hopefully - is changing to more of a fall feel, baseball (at least in San Francisco and Oakland) has given way to football and it's time to start preparing for the next big few holidays. Safety In Focus For Holiday

Safety first should be the watchword this long holiday weekend, according to local officials.

River water is still running high and cold, making it all the more important for rafters and swimmers to use life jackets. Authorities also caution against boating and drinking, or 'floating' and drinking for rafters, as the alcohol will slow response time and could create added danger for those trying to enjoy a day on the water. Extra patrols will be implemented on the area's waterways as deputies crack down on drunken or impaired boaters.

Marg-Ins - Game Changers

What a whirlwind the last few weeks have been. Now that school is out and high school sports (other than summer camps and all-star games) have wrapped up for the year, maybe there will be time to breathe. Maybe even time for a little vacation …

Varsity Lady Mustangs Run Out Of Gas In Section Final

Pushed to the limit in their first two playoff contests - an overtime win and a come-from-behind thriller that went to penalty kicks - Oakdale's varsity Lady Mustangs ultimately didn't have quite enough push left in them to grab the Section banner they desperately wanted.
