Today is a very special day in Valley Home! Our Valley Home School Kindergarten and our eighth graders will graduate this evening, Wednesday, May 24. It hardly seems possible that graduation is here already, yet the excitement on the faces of our graduates reveals young people who are ready for the future! For our kindergartners it means stepping into the first grade world, a whole new learning adventure. LaFayette Odd Fellows Lodge Inaugural Summer Car Show

The La Grange Odd Fellows will sponsor a great new family friendly summer event, the Inaugural IOOF Lodge #65 Car Show on Saturday, July 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the La Grange One Room School House. It'll be a full day of All-American celebration of the automobile, including a DJ with musical entertainment, food concessions and soft drinks.

A project that saw many contributors came to fruition on Monday morning at Haidlen Ford on East F Street in Oakdale. Here, recently-turned 16-year-old Hailey Horn has the key and gets ready to drive off the lot with a used car that was refurbished and prepared for her, free of charge, courtesy of a team of volunteers. The teen is battling brain cancer and friends of the family wanted to make sure she had a special 'Sweet 16' birthday. Looking on is General Manager Erich Haidlen.
