There are people looking over the bridge in the Ferry, the salmon are running. The salmon count on the Stanislaus River is taken in the river near Riverbank. Already 2,179 Chinook salmon have passed the counting station. The run used to number in the millions but declined over the years. This year the count is up. The Salmon Festival on November 3rd at the Army Corp Park will celebrate the fish.

John Witzke killed two small rattlesnakes on their Hwy 108 property last week. Bev Noe said they were in the garden and were small.

At the MAC meeting the addition to the telephone building in the Plaza was discussed. So far they have only put marks on the ground! Dolly Haskell reported on the OID meeting she attended concerning the $5 fee to each household. They agreed that the Knights Ferry water district should be the one to handle the fee. There will be no meetings of the MAC in November and December. At the January meeting the MAC hopes to have some representative of the water board attend.
