Olga Peña Treviño, 61, died Thursday, Aug. 2 after a long battle with cancer with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Diaz Ordaz, Tamaulipas, Mexico on May 3, 1951 to Gregorio and Guadalupe Treviño. She was born into a hardworking, humble and loving family. She spent her childhood in Diaz Ordaz where she devoted her time to her siblings and the well-being of her family. At age 20, she married Ernesto Peña in her home town in Mexico.

She and her husband moved to California and have been residents of Oakdale for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Peña enjoyed a long career at Con Agra and created many great memories with her co-workers.

Despite her physically demanding job, she was the best wife and mother a family could ask for. She was genuine, giving, willing to sacrifice her own needs to provide for her family, and was a source of strength to her loved ones. Her sincerity, dedication, and sense of humor brought joy to those who knew her. She was an affectionate, strong and inspirational woman for many.

She enjoyed cooking, making delicious meals for her family and friends, and putting a smile on people’s faces. She also spent much of her time outdoors caring for her plants and flowers while her grandchildren played. She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones. She cherished weekend getaways to Twain Harte and Lake Tahoe and late nights playing cards with her family.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her husband, Ernesto Peña Sr.; children, Veronica, Susana, Ernesto Jr. and Amanda; parents, Gregorio and Guadalupe Treviño; siblings, Ezequiel, Artemio, Casimiro, Ismelda and Elizabeth; and eight grandchildren, Vanessa, Briana, Miranda, Isaac, Jasmin, Jessica, Kalissa and Jayden.
