Oakdale High graduate Shae Serpa made the most of her summer during action at the Silver State International Rodeo in Winnemucca, Nevada from July 2 to 7.
Serpa showed off her expertise during intense pole-bending competition, garnering runner up honors with a 53.653 score that missed netting the local rider the championship by less than .1. Serpa was well ahead of third place in the completion.
She earns Athlete of the Week recognition from The Leader for her big performance.
