Early Morning Armed Robbery At Gas Station

POSTED July 9, 2012 3:09 p.m.

The Valero gas station on East F Street was robbed at gunpoint early Sunday, July 8, according to police reports.

Dispatch received a robbery alarm at 5:30 a.m. at the 1590 E. F Street location and called to confirm. The female clerk confirmed that she'd just been robbed by a man in his mid 20s to early 30s. The suspect was described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches with a thin build wearing a blue hoodie over his head and a black mask or bandana covering the lower part of his face and sunglasses. He brandished a small silver or chrome handgun at the woman and demanded money from the safe. The clerk, whose identity is being withheld for her safety, told the robber she could not access the safe. The robber changed his demand from the safe to the money inside the cash register. The clerk handed him the cash and the suspect fled on foot, running northeast through the parking lot.

Although officers were unable to find the suspect, the investigating officer is reviewing surveillance video and photos from the store.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to call Det. Max Messina, at 209-847-2231.
