Welcome to the world Luke William Studer, born in Switzerland to Angie and Richie. Proud Knights Ferry grandparents are Kay and Bill Martinelli. Welcoming Luke home were big brothers Pete and Jake.

The Sonora Masonic Lodge gave out awards to teachers and Ed Cassinetto, received one for his job teaching at Dario Cassina High School. Congratulations!

Dates for May to put on your calendar: May 3-Community Club at 7:00p.m. for a dessert meeting, May-4, “Soul Heart” playing at the 50’s Roadhouse at 7:30p.m. for your dining enjoyment, May 5-Breakfast Sunday at the I.O.O.F. Hall 8-noon, May 9-Garden Club to meet at the Cemetery with sack lunch at 10:00a.m., May 10-School Board at 6:00p.m., Mother’s Day–May 13, May 15-Supervisors meeting to discuss reconsidering the subdivision plan for Cemetery and Frymire Roads at 6:30 in Modesto.

Lee Shearer was the recipient of the “Birthday Song” at the 50’s Roadhouse last Wednesday.

At the last MAC meeting Supervisor O’Brien sent an E Mail about the Covered Bridge up for National Monument status and wanted the MAC’s stand on that and the resubmitting of plans for the Overlook subdivision on Cemetery and Frymire. California Highway Patrolman Anthony spoke on the stop sign watch in the Ferry the other morning; he stopped 8 cars for not stopping in 15 minutes! He noted that bicyclists MUST stop at stop signs also. Tom Rauch was at the meeting to explore setting up a MAC for the Sunset Oaks area, as they have been plagued with theft during the day.

Knights Ferrians were saddened to hear of the death of C.B. last Wednesday.

Congratulations go out to Nathaniel Van Ryn who is going to the University of Pacific’s Accelerated Dental Program after graduating from OHS.

May 17th the Knights Ferry School is having a Talent Show, Hot Dog/Sausage Dinner and Bovine Bingo at the school starting at 5:00p.m.

Tommy Warren entertained at the 50’s Roadhouse last Saturday to the enjoyment of the diners.

There has been no agreement yet in the Knights Ferry School negotiations (as of Sunday).

The Peddler’s Faire as well attended and there were about 90 vendors selling their wares. Your reporter could not attend due to her foot. Thanks go out to the behind the scenes people; those that got there at 5:00 a.m. to sign in vendors, those who kept the bathrooms stocked with paper, those who emptied garbage, those who directed traffic (Clampers), the shuttle driver, the STARS in the Museum, the Odd Fellows for breakfast, and  the members of the History and Museum Association who put on the Faire every year. This year Gayle Higgins headed the committee. Great job everyone!
