Library Fundraiser Slated

POSTED March 27, 2012 2:26 p.m.

A fundraising event for Save Stanislaus Libraries will be held at the home of Oakdale Mayor Pat Paul on Thursday, March 29 from 5:30p.m. to 7:30p.m. Co-hosted by Delsie and Roger Schrimp, the event will raise funds and awareness for Measure T, the ballot measure to renew the 1/8 of a penny sales tax that provides 87 percent of the funding for Stanislaus County libraries.

“Libraries are our source of ongoing education and literacy,” said Mayor Paul. “They provide story times for children, computer access for those who don’t own one, and of course books and other materials. Libraries are free and open to the entire community.”

Attendees will hear from Measure T supporters and can make a donation and/or volunteer to work on the campaign that evening. For more information and for directions to Paul’s home, call (209) 847-5451 or (209) 845-1517.
