Student Science Fair Slated

Hundreds of kindergarten through sixth grade students are preparing for the annual Oakdale Joint Unified School District science fair. The fair runs Tuesday, March 13 through Thursday, March 15 and takes place at the FES Hall on Lee Avenue.

Science fair coordinator Kathy Jenkins said that applications for 366 projects have been received this year for grades K-6 district wide.

The science fair has special hours scheduled for classroom visits and is also open to the public. Exhibits will be judged on March 13 from 8:30a.m. to 11:30a.m. and is closed during that time. It’ll reopen to visitors from the public later that day from 2p.m. – 5:30p.m. It will also be open to the public on Wednesday, March 14 from 2p.m. – 5:30p.m., then it will close for a half hour and re-open for the Student Scientist Evening from 6p.m. – 7p.m. where students will give presentations about their science projects.

A science fair awards ceremony will be at Magnolia auditorium on Wednesday, March 21.
