An Open House to mark their 60th wedding anniversary is planned by the Torngren family of Oakdale, with husband and wife Toby and Maya celebrating on Saturday, March 10.

Their actual wedding date was March 8, 1952 and the couple was married in Augsburg, Germany. Toby was in the service and Maya was a war bride, with the couple making their way to the United States in July of 1952. Originally going to Grand Rapids, Michigan, the couple also spent time in Fremont, Atascadero, and Portland, Oregon. Maya is a published author, and is involved in local quilting and gardening clubs. Toby has been a member of the Oakdale Community Band for 10 years.

Three of their children, Karin, Kenneth and Susan, live in San Jose and Gary lives in Oakdale. They also have two grandchildren, Laura in San Jose and Michael in Oakdale.

The Open House anniversary party is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
