Winning War Against Graffiti

POSTED February 15, 2012 10:29 a.m.

Dear Editor,

As part of the city’s T.A.G. Graffiti Abatement volunteer team, I want to extend a sincere thank you to Oakdale property owners for their cooperation in quickly removing graffiti from their homes and businesses. To have someone deface your business or damage your property in such a disrespectful and uncaring way is frustrating beyond words. Time after time, I see business and homeowners step up to the situation and spend their money and time quickly removing the graffiti to keep our city beautiful.

We will never allow our city to become a place where graffiti is just a sad statement of modern times. Oakdale is a special place and the T.A.G. volunteers are committed to working with property owners to fight the blight of graffiti.

If you want to join the fight, come to the Oakdale’s Victory Over Vandalism public meeting on Monday, February 27th at 7 p.m. at the Gene Bianchi Community Center to find out what you can do to help.

Mike Hancock

T.A.G. Volunteer
