Crossing Guard Conundrum

POSTED February 3, 2012 1:29 p.m.

The crossing guards stationed at three different high-traffic crossing areas commonly used by students in the morning and afternoon are quite possibly the bravest people in Oakdale, given the fact how many pedestrian vs. vehicle accidents occur in the city. But recently, some crossing guards have said they've caught some guff over their need to stop traffic so the children can cross. Some drivers aren't stopping at all and are blowing through the crosswalk, jeopardizing the safety of the children and the crossing guard. For the full story, read the Feb. 8 issue of The Oakdale Leader.
