At the Knights Ferry Community Club meeting the treasurer Lisa Dolling read the bills and the club’s bank account is low. There have not been the rentals lately as in other years. It is $450 to rent the clubhouse with a $400 returnable deposit. That is lower than most venues. If you are a member in good standing, the rental is $125 with a $100 deposit. The club voted to raise the dues to $35 per family and $17.50 a single. The dues are due in March. Also discussed was canceling the Groundhog Dinner because it wasn’t profitable. It was voted to drop the dinner this year. The Civil War Reenactment is March 24-25 and the club’s Spaghetti Dinner is Saturday, March 24th. Be on the lookout for raffle prizes!

The Knights Ferry School Parent Teacher Club received a check for $549.67 from Box Tops for Education. This payment was for box tops turned in by November 1st. Keep cutting those coupons out, a painless was to help the school.

Phil Frymire ended up in the hospital New Years Day due to a bee sting. He is very allergic and did not have his Epinephrine pen in the car. His wife Lisa rushed him home and gave him the shot but he was severely reacting and was rushed to the hospital. Yes, bees are out in this warm weather. They do not read calendars!

Speaking of warm, your reporter is watering the area where the Easter Egg Hunt is every year. The orchard grass is brown where the water is not, and very green where the sprinkler has reached. The whole water situation at the Shearer house has been horrible, with roots in the water line. Still haven’t found where the line has been compromised. Keep on digging!

The Knights Ferry School Board will hold its meeting Thursday, January 12 at 6:00 p.m. at the school.
