Barb Burroughs has returned from spending seven weeks in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she helped daughter-in-law Justina with the new baby, Neal. Rett was deployed to Afghanistan when Neal was 5 days old and has returned. Of course Barb jumped at the chance to play baby! She had a great time with her first grandchild. Lynn stayed home and held down the fort!

The Knights Ferry Community Club dinner was very yummy and the Oakdale High School choirs were great. It was a lovely evening and a lot of toys and canned goods were collected.

Knights Ferry School collected $713.15 for July, August and September SHARES cards. Keep up the good work. Also remember to save the Box Tops for Education. Every bit helps!

The Brunker family, Bob, Beverly, Bob Jr. Eska, Yuki and Nicole flew to visit Leslie Brunker for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately Beverly had a heart attack and spent two days in the hospital. She is recovering nicely at home.

The Knights Ferry School Band went to see the Blue Man Group at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto. It was a light-intense techno-driven percussion-playing trio of blue painted men. Thanks to all who bought cookie dough, they were able to experience the performance.

The Krick family and the Doshas family received Beautification Certificates from the Knights Ferry Garden Club for their street side plantings.

The clear, cool Sunday was perfect for the Christmas Parade in the Ferry. There might have been more persons in the parade than watching but all had a good time. There were decorated children in strollers, decorated dogs, Ben Cassinetto on his tractor pulling a wagon load of children and adults, children and adults on horseback, the local pre-schoolers with a wagon float, cookies for Santa (Breanna, Dakota, Tristan and Jordan) in a trailer pulled by Michelle and Tracy, Degan on his decorated scooter, Tim and Dorothy with their decorated car, Santa riding an ice chest, decorated ATV’s, Lee driving “Gertie” with Gwyn and Brian in the rumble seat and many others, all led by the fire truck. Then Santa arrived at the Ice Cream Shop and listened to the children’s wish list. It was a very fun day!
