A boy, Phynx Anthony Cardoza, was born Oct. 23, 2011 to expectant parents Laurence Cardoza and Brooke Fennell of Oakdale. The newborn weighed seven pounds, four ounces upon arrival Oak Valley Hospital.

Welcoming the newcomer home were older siblings Jaxx Shoemake and Alex Goulet.

Tinsley and Loretta Johnson of Oakdale are the maternal grandparents.

Larry and Nancy Cardoza of Stockton are paternal grandparents.
