Owen Haskell celebrated his 88th birthday with a party in his yard. Beckie, Carey and Linda, former caregivers, came to help Owen celebrate. Also attending were Owen’s niece Judy Haskell McCarrick of Grass Valley and her daughter-in-law Jane Overgard, also from Grass Valley. Many other family members and friends gathered for the party for Owen. Dolly Haskell also had an October birthday that the family celebrated. Dolly had celebrated with friends in Scott’s Valley earlier in the month. The partygoers enjoyed the delicious lunch and reminiscing with family.

The Knights Ferry School children will be decorating pumpkins on Monday the 31st and then they will parade through town at noon collecting treats. It is fun to see all the costumes.

The Knights Ferry kindergarteners went to the Community Garden to work and learn and then toured the pumpkin roll making by the Knights Ferry Garden Club. They enjoyed a taste of the roll and couldn’t believe the freezer full of rolls.
