Lots of excitement in the air as we hear rumors that there is a stirring of spooky things that go bump in the night beginning to stir in our Valley Home community! Have you heard strange noises in the night, a moan here or a groan there? These weird sounds seem to be emanating from the area around Valley Home Community Park! If you stroll by the park these October evenings you can hear whisperings in the air. Listen! You can hear voices calling, “Join us in the Mausoleum for the Monster’s Masquerade!” For an evening of fun and thrills, our Valley Home Community Park will be crawling with creepy creatures and scary monsters on Saturday, October 29th, from 7-9 p.m. and will magically become the Valley Home Haunted Park.

Valley Home 4-H members are hosting the Monster’s Masquerade and invite you to attend this special event! For an evening of great Halloween fun, “Please wait for our grave digger to escort you through the Haunted Cemetery to the Mausoleum,” and an evening of ghosts and games! Admission is free, but there will be a collection box present, if you would like to bring a canned or non-perishable food item for the holiday baskets that our 4-H club donates to local families.

Enjoy an evening with monsters and music! “We’re dying to eat…uhh…meet you!!!”

** (Don’t be late—the Zombies eat at 8!!)

We all wish Marcel Dickens a speedy recovery. Marcel has been a bit under the weather and hopefully he will soon be back up and tending to his beautiful front yard and garden on Lone Tree.

Take time before the month ends to take a drive through our area and enjoy the Halloween displays. There are some nice ones to view drive slow and enjoy!

We all wish 3rd grader Tyler Barreto from Valley Home School a Happy 8th Birthday, Tyler enjoyed his special day on October 21st.

Valley Home PTC is looking forward to supporting our students with Red Ribbon Week, October 24th - 28th, as our school has entered the Best Decorated/Most Spirited School contest hosted by SCOE’s Prevention Programs.

October seems to be a busy month for Valley Home birthdays. Our best wishes for a wonderful birthday go out to our good friend, Tommy Vaughn. Tommy celebrated with family and friends. Two of our Valley Home teens are also in the birthday spotlight this week. The lovely Miss Amanda Monschein celebrated her special day this past week, and also celebrating his birthday is Austin Dickens. We wish you both super Happy Birthdays!

Former Valley Home residents Justin Trina and Casey Doyle send a hello to all their many friends here in Valley Home. They miss everyone, but love their home in Idaho. Justin is in Junior High School now and just finished his first year of football.

Glenn and Laura Burghardt traveled to Stockton Sunday afternoon to enjoy a birthday luncheon featuring Mexican cuisine with grandson, Ryan Burghardt. Ryan celebrated his 21st birthday on Saturday. Following the luncheon he took his grandparents on a tour of the University of Pacific campus and all enjoyed birthday cake for dessert at one of the campus park tables.

Sad news here in Valley Home as we mourn the passing of a very special young lady, Mikayla Zwald. Mikayla was a lifelong resident of our Valley Home area and a senior at Oakdale High School. We send our deepest sympathy to her parents and family members in their loss.
