Jim Stanley and Shannon Duncan were united in marriage in a double ring, rock & roll wedding on Feb. 26, 2011 at the Oakdale Rodeo Grounds. A reception followed with 150 guests in attendance.
Music for the ceremony was provided by a live wedding band consisting of Mike Stewart on drums, Greg Rivera on guitar, Brad Flodman on bass, and Craig Day on lead vocals.
Presiding over the ceremony was Rev. Ron “Mr. Q” Quintanal, who entered playing “You’re Still a Young Man” on trumpet.
The bride is the daughter of Patti Duncan, who was escorted in to “Bohemian Rhapsody” by brother of the bride, Sean Duncan. He performed “Grow Old With You” during the sand ceremony. The bride wore a black-tiered dress and jeweled tiara, her grandmother’s wedding ring, and carried a bouquet of red roses. She was given in marriage by her Godfather, Don Husing of Capitola, while she sang “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.”
