When the trophies start to outnumber the toys, you know you have a winner on your hands.
Sierra View first grader Jace Grandstaff has steadily made a name for himself as one of the top young motocross riders in the state, and two years into his career is already bogged down with a plethora of memorabilia.
His Cobra CX 50 Jr. already has over 100 races of experience, including first place at the Stanislaus County Fair, first place at the Sonora Fair and first place at the Los Banos Fair.
He won the Los Banos Summercross Series by placing first in six of the nine races and was second overall at the Spring Series at Little Okie Raceway in Madera.
Soon, the six-year old Oakdale youngster will begin the AMP/GFI Fall Series, and has qualified to tackle the division’s Amateur Nationals at the Hangtown Raceway in Sacramento at the end of September.
Hangtown will represent the biggest test of Grandstaff’s young career, as the best riders from across the country will converge on a huge track normally reserved for professional motocross riders.
“Jace’s favorite things about racing are winning, trophies and his friends at the track,” father Jeff Grandstaff said. “He has put some hard work in.”
