Over 70 percent of Oakdale Gators youth swimmers saw improved times and 40 percent bested personal records in two or more events at the Mid Valley Swim League Championships on Saturday at the Oakdale Aquatic Center.
“It was really neat to be able to host the MVSL Championships the first year we have access to the new high school facilities,” Gators coach Brian Fogarty said. “It would not have been possible without the help of our parents and board members who volunteered their time.”
The meet was attended by hundreds of swimmers from all across the valley, the participants collecting under awnings and inside tents across the campus before taking part in events that saw as many as 70 swimmers across several heats.

The day also saw the final Oakdale Gator swims of longtime pool king Chris Terwilliger, who ended his career with championship honors in the 17-18 100 back. He was also fourth in the 50 free and 100 free.
