Faire Success Thanks To Many

POSTED May 17, 2011 8:55 p.m.

Dear Editor,

The 20th annual Knights Ferry Peddler’s Faire was a huge success again this year due to many volunteers who gave of their time to add funds to the Knights Ferry Museum. Our goal is to preserve the history of this gold rush community, which was the county seat of Stanislaus County from 1861-1871.

Our County Sheriff’s Department is important to our continued safety at family events such as this. The mounted patrol division is very popular with children. They also had the S.T.A.R.S. and Explorer Scouts in the area for part of the day. Steves Chevrolet supplied a van to shuttle the visitors. Gilton Solid Waste loaned bins to keep the park tidy.

The Oakdale Leader provided a story about the Faire, which informed many visitors about a local annual event, which is free to the public.

Thank you to everyone who helped — especially the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for allowing us the use of their park for the day. We had some great vendors again this year.

Sincerely,

Carol Davis

Peddler’s Faire Coordinator
