Lurella ‘Nicky’ McCann, 84, died Saturday, April 16 surrounded by her loving family at Alexander Cohen Hospice House.

She was born in Bard Valley in Imperial County. She was a resident of Oakdale for 67 years.

Mrs. McCann was a member at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club and the Par-T-niners.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Steven (Maris) McCann of Oakdale; daughter, Cindy (Gary) Knox of Escalon; brother, Ted Jones of Vancouver, WA; four granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren McCann; brothers, Randal Jones, Robert Jones; sister, Edith Williams; and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Jones.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20 at Oaklawn Memorial Park, 421 N. Sierra Ave., Oakdale.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Community Hospice Foundation, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto 95365, (209) 578-6300.
