Kody Simons spent his vacation (17 days) in Australia playing baseball for the Chicago White Sox scout team. Kody tried out for the team last summer. He spent a few days in Sydney and the rest of the time he was with his host family in Adelaide. There were four teams from the United States that played the Aussies. What an experience!

Maureen McKibban delivered some Smokey Bear posters from Knights Ferry School to the Mi-wuk Ranger Station where they will be on display this summer. They provided prizes for the contest and were very grateful to receive the posters.

Last year there were 21 condolences given to local families on the death of a loved one. There were only nine welcome to the world baby announcements of babies born to Knights Ferrians, grandparents or great- grandparents. This year let’s not have so many deaths and more babies!

Phil and Lisa Frymire held their annual burning of the pile party News Years Eve. All had a good time.

The water was really flowing from the ditch on Morrison Road last Sunday. A small artesian gopher hole spouted on the Shearer property, quite something to see the water spurting in the air. Let’s hope for some dry weather, your reporter is tired of drying off the dogs!
