Knights Ferry News for October 27, 2010

POSTED October 27, 2010 10:47 a.m.

Knights Ferry School Kindergartener Alexa Boyajian took her class to her Grandma Laura’s house on Orange Blossom for an October outing. They all got to pick up sacks of almonds, picked out a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, (thanks Save Mart for the supplemental pumpkins) fed the goats, played on the trampoline and teeter-totter, ate chili and cornbread and got a goodie bag. Grace Harden liked petting the goats. River McCarthy liked getting her pumpkin. Alek Barton liked feeding the goats. Troy Peterson (siblings were along also) liked picking up the almonds. The children had a lot of fun!

Welcome to the Ferry Tasha, Jason, Kaeli and Deagan Sweet. Now there are two Martinelli girls living here.

Gayle Diltz went bowling in a blind bowling league. She described how it worked. There was a rail to the foul line to hold onto and four high school students helped verbally with the placement. Gayle used to bowl and this was the first time without sight. She even got a strike! She said she needed a lighter ball next time.

With baking season upon us, save those Box Tops for Education for Knights Ferry School.

Hurry and recover Reba!

Lisa and Fred Dolling have returned from Morro Bay where they visited with grandchildren Riley Dolling and Wyatt Wray and Kaycee Wray (and their parents). They went to Avila Beach but the weather was hot.

Two Raywood Ash trees have been planted at Knights Ferry School, donated by the Knights Ferry Garden Club.

Condolences go out to Bill and Evelyn Frias on the death of their grandson, Seth, age 29. Seth was the son of Jim and Michelle Frias, and brother to Judah and Shana. He was stationed in San Diego and had been diagnosed with cancer. Services are Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Living Hope Church on the corner of Highway 108 and River Road.
