At the meeting of the Knights Ferry Historical and Museum Associates, the Oct. 10 motorcycle run was discussed. This will be a fundraiser for finishing the last two sides of Miller’s Hall. So far the group has spent over $40,000 on the project. It is looking great with the new siding, paint and porches. The stairs to the second story will also be fixed. And donations towards this project will be appreciated.

Someone in the suburbs of the Ferry was looking for his spare tire to fix a flat and could not find it. He opened the back and looked in the well where he thought it should be (the jack was there).  Roadside service came out and…boy, was he embarrassed when they pointed out he had moved the tire when he opened the back. Is this a senior moment for a new retiree?

The annual Frymire Luau was held Saturday night at Phil and Lisa’s home. Their tropical lagoon and summer drinks attracted many partygoers.

The Oakdale Rural Fire Department, Station 2, has been responding to medical emergencies, river rescues and grass fires. Do not mow your weeds in the middle of the day, a spark can set off a fire as one homeowner found out.
