Michael and Maureen McKibban have returned from vacationing in Oregon. They drove to Seaside, a small resort town just south of Astoria that is the oldest resort area in Oregon. They stayed in an 1880s house on the beach with friends. It rained every day, but some days were just misty. They toured the Tillamook Cheese Factory. On the way home, they stopped in Ashland and took in the play “Hamlet” that was done in modern dress but the old speech. Coming by Shasta they hit a snowstorm and just about had to stop, but Michael crept along slowly and they were fine.

Kaitlin Van Ryn and her RAGE Volleyball Club 14s team are going to the Junior Nationals! Good luck and best wishes!

At the end of Knights Ferry School’s year, 4th quarter Renaissance Awards were given out. Having a 4.0 GPA the 4th quarter were Ray Patton, Shawn Spani, Sage Heckinger, Shaye Spani, Ashley Caron, Andie Jones, Taylor Kelley and Meghan Caron. Keep up the good work.

The school’s new roof is coming along, the Doshas fence is up and looking good, an extension of the River’s Edge deck is under way and the retaining wall at the backside of the church is being completed. June projects!

Tonight, June 16, is the School board meeting at 6 p.m. It was changed due to conflicting schedules.

The Celebration of Life for Gregg Haskell had a huge turnout at the River’s Edge Saturday. Family, friends, and co-workers gathered to remember Gregg and share stories. It was good to see Anna and sons Owen and James. Before the celebration there was a memorial service at the church, led by Pastor Tanis.

Party music floated over the hills of the Ferry as Phil and Lisa Frymire held their 7th annual Luau Saturday night.
