When Linda Cassinetto went to Las Vegas to celebrate her daughter’s birthday, she and her daughter, Monica, were unaware that a special surprise had been cooked up between Linda’s youngest daughter, Beth, and her son Stephen, who was in Nepal. Stephen flew in to Vegas and Beth brought him into the casino where all were enjoying themselves. What a wonderful surprise!

The Eighth Graders gave the class history and class wills. Jesse Freitas and Charles Wong presented the gift to the school, a table for snack time and talking. At the Knights Ferry Community Club meeting, Betsy and Kelly from the City of Oakdale Animal Shelter spoke on the new activities at the shelter. Their dream dog park area is taking shape and the cats are being housed at Oakdale Pet Station, more room for the cats. The facility is overcrowded so both these remedies will help and the dogs can be outside more. The Pet Alliance helps by raising money for the shelter. Community members brought old towels and bedding to donate to the shelter.

Phil and Carmen Frymire took the train to Iowa to attend granddaughter Danielle Frymire’s high school graduation in Bettendorf, Iowa. Danielle’s dad, Phillip, drove a pickup back for Danielle to have. Carmen says the countryside was beautiful, with all sorts of wildflowers blooming. While there they toured the John Deere plant, where most people are employed. The town was clean and the people were friendly. Danielle is enrolled in the community college and working as an Emergency Medical Technician. They had a good trip and a lovely visit with Danielle.
