The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Oakdale and Riverbank invites team captains to the team captain meeting on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 6:45 p.m., at Oak Valley Medical Plaza, 1425 W. H St., Oakdale.

The monthly meeting provides event updates and allows team captains to interact with the event leadership team, share their fundraising progress and successes, ask questions, learn how the community benefits from funds raised, and learn how cancer survivors and caregivers will be honored.

The Relay For Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all. Relay For Life events are community events where teams and individuals camp out at a school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Teams participate in fundraising in the months leading up to the event. The Oakdale and Riverbank Relay will be hosted at Oakdale High School.

The Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest fundraising event to fight every cancer in every community with four million participants in 6,000 events worldwide in 2015.
