Rattlesnake alert: Michel and Gordon Griesner have killed two young snakes. One was out back in the rose garden and Michel dispatched it and the other was by their front walk and Gordon dispatched that one. Kathy Shuper caught one in a glue trap she had set out for mice in the washroom and it was alive. She was afraid it would come unglued so she called the 50’s Roadhouse and Jewls and her helpers came and took care of it. It too was a young one. The Ohe family’s old dog was bit and had to be put down. A female rattler can have 4-24 young; so if there is one, look out for the others!

More winners on a different subject: The Knights Ferry Garden Club has been advised that they had two Smokey Bear Poster winners at the state level. They are Olivia Doshas, Third Place for Third Graders in the state and Megan Willis, Honorable Mention for Fourth Graders in the state. The children have been invited to the California Garden Club Youth Recognition Luncheon in Walnut Creek.

At the meeting of the Museum and Historical Associates, they gave Bob Muller the go ahead to finish the back of the building. This will leave only one side to go. Homecoming will be June 6th with the Odd Fellows breakfast and the Museum open for reminiscing.

Knights Ferry School graduation will be June 2nd at 7 p.m. at the school.
