Sam Henderson, 81, died Friday, April 16 in Modesto.

He was born in Oklahoma to Jess and Mattie Henderson. He was a resident of Hughson.

He was a graduate of Hughson High School.

Mr. Henderson liked the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, woodworking and making cabinets.

He is survived by his wife, Della Talbert-Henderson; daughters, Diana (Joel) Norman of Oakdale, Janice Boothe of Coulterville; sons, Larry (Deborah) Henderson of Modesto, Rodney Henderson of San Andreas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Tommie Henderson.

Visitation was held April 20, and a chapel service was held April 21 at Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson. Burial followed at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.
