The Save Mart Companies has begun a major modernization and expansion project at its Oakdale store. This is the third location under the Save Mart banner incorporating the brand’s fresh, updated look and the new features geared toward convenience and service.

“We’re excited about bringing what’s essentially a new store to this community,” said Randy Slentz, General Manager of Save Mart. “We thank our customers for their patience while we work to enhance their shopping experience. We promise it’ll be worth the wait.”

The Foothill Oaks Shopping Center, where this Save Mart store is located, is also under renovation and poised to give Oakdale residents a premiere shopping destination when it’s all done later this year.

The Save Mart project will add another 5,500 square feet to the existing footprint and include: Burrito/taco/nacho bar with tortillas made fresh in the store; a “Valley Fresco” area with vegetable/fruit-infused water, fresh juice bar, fresh cut produce, fresh salsa and guacamole; specialty sandwiches; salad bar; new meat and seafood counter; in-store grill for hassle-free barbecues - shoppers pick what’s for lunch or dinner and Save Mart will grill it for you, the first Save Mart store to have one; expanded selection of natural, organic and bulk foods; café seating with Wifi; self-checkout lanes.

The Save Mart store remains open for business during the expansion. Shoppers can keep up with the project’s progress and receive special offers by signing up for the Save Smart Rewards program at www.SaveMart.com or by downloading the app. The new meat/seafood counter and the café seating area are expected to be ready for use by the end of September and the Valley Fresco section is scheduled to be complete the following month. The entire Save Mart project is slated to be finished in early November, just in time for the holidays. A celebration commemorating its grand re-opening is tentatively planned for Dec. 1.

Based in the heart of the Central Valley, The Save Mart Companies is committed to sourcing a wide variety of local products ensuring that ‘fresh comes first’ for neighborhoods throughout California and Northern Nevada. The company employs nearly 16,000 team members and operates 205 traditional and price impact stores under the banners of Save Mart, Lucky, FoodMaxx, S-Mart Foods, and MaxxValue Foods.
