The building isn’t hard to miss. Their logo seems familiar and their services are reaching Valley residents and businesses on a daily basis.

In April of this year, business partners Gretchen Arbini and Ron Anderson secured possession of the 1477 S. Yosemite Ave., Oakdale building to serve as home to their business Crown Painting, Inc. A storefront office continues to operate from the highly visible 126 N. Yosemite location, where it shares space with Arbini’s Design Studio 120 interior design business.

Now, as you head south along Yosemite going out of the city limits, the Crown Painting building is clearly visible, the site of the former longtime Oakdale Recycling Center.

Anderson and Arbini have worked together well beyond the founding of Crown Painting, Inc. close to four and a half years ago. According to Arbini it was Anderson who approached her with the idea of branching out on their own. With Anderson’s 20 years of paint experience and Arbini’s 10 years in design, it seemed like a natural progression.

“That’s the great thing about Ron and I, we can divide our responsibilities,” she said of their roles as business, versus labor. “We rarely ever cross over. If we do, we’re able to say okay, that’s your realm, this is my realm. I think that’s why we’ve been able to grow and progress so successfully.”

The growth Arbini speaks of is from a staff of herself, Anderson and four painters, to a current team of 50 to 60 depending on the labor load. The South Yosemite location now serves as a home base for the team, while the storefront serves as a space for clients and general business.

“I’m passionate about Oakdale,” Arbini, an Oakdale High School alum, said of the decision to grow locally versus closer to the 99 corridor. “I’m passionate about this community and I’m passionate about the things I represent and we represent. That’s really important to me.”

Crown Painting Inc. currently does work in residential, large industrial, large food service, as well as for general contractors. They most recently secured a contract with J.R. Simplot Company, which will likely take their crew beyond their typical 90-mile Valley radius.

“We’ve developed these relationships over the last few years. It’s helped us grow,” she said. “I know the growth rate and success rate is attributed to our team.”

Everything about the company from the name to the logo serve as testament to the partnership the two professionals have fostered. Anderson began throwing names around and the two felt ‘Crown’ was the right fit. Arbini then turned to an on-line company to assist with logo design.

“It was all meant to be,” Arbini said of the company, its path and their new location, noting that they are now one of the top painting companies in the Central Valley.

“We’re really happy with our niche and where we’re headed,” she said.
