Paneda, Leal Exchange Wedding Vows

Jeffrey Ryan Paneda of Manteca and Jodie Lynn Leal of Oakdale united as husband and wife on August 15, 2009.

The couple’s vows were exchanged during a double ring ceremony hosted at Erwin Shear Garden Estates in Oakdale. Presiding over the ceremony was Bishop Williams of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A reception for approximately 250 guests was hosted at the Almond Pavilion in Oakdale.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph Leal and Tina Heuvel of Oakdale. She is a graduate of Oakdale High School, as well as Modesto Junior College. She is a 2009 graduate of Sacramento State University, where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Communications. She is now in the credential program to earn her teaching degree.

On the day of their wedding the bride wore a white, strapless mermaid style gown from the House of Fashion in Sacramento. Her bouquet was made of yellow callalillies and white roses. She was given in marriage by her father Joseph Leal.

Supporting her as maid of honor was Erin Wachter of Sacramento. Present as bridesmaids were her sisters, Nicole, Codee, Whitnie and Kelsie Leal and friends, Brenda Sotello and Remsha Robinson. The groom’s niece Jazmine Maceda of Manteca and the bride’s half-sister Shelby Leal of Oakdale were flowergirls.

The bridal party wore dresses that were brown and yellow and carried yellow roses.

The groom is the son of Sonny Paneda and Daisy Whitaker of Manteca. He is a graduate of Manteca High School and Modesto Junior College, where he first met his bride. The couple participated on the MJC track team and each earned a scholarship to Sacramento State. He is a 2008 graduate of Sacramento State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. He is currently studying for his masters in Computer Engineering.

Standing beside him as best man was Fitzgerald Asuncion of Manteca. Also present were the groom’s brothers Elton Maceda, Justin Paneda and Mikey and Christopher Whitaker, as well as friends Pelon Garcia and Terrel Kirtz. Nicholas Leal of Ceres, the bride’s nephew, was the ring bearer.

The couple honeymooned in Maui. They will continue residence in Sacramento until they complete their schooling.
