Kaeli Sweet flew to Virginia Beach, Virginia, to visit her Uncle Adam and Aunt Tiffany. Hurricane Arthur, the first named storm of the season, went up the Atlantic seaboard also. We have to wait until Kaeli is home to find out how that experience was.

The newest addition to the Dolling’s menagerie is a baby zebra named Twist. He is being kept out of the public’s eye for now while he gets used to the area. Lisa got him through “Zebras Are Us” in Southern California. Welcome Twist!

Linda and Ken Morris and granddaughter Rhiannon and her friend Casey Wagner, plus Linda’s dogs Dudley and Winston, vacationed at Yellowstone for 10 days. During that time they saw more than nine bears, a few wolves, elk, swans, badgers, mountain sheep, etc. A black bear was seen eating a marmot, a prairie falcon was feeding her three chicks and an osprey was seen feeding her chicks a fish. Besides looking at the wildlife they went horseback riding and Rhiannon and Casey became Junior Rangers. They had a great time.

The community picnic held at the clubhouse on the 3rd was full of good food and fellowship. Ken Morris bar-b-qued the hot dogs, Lee Shearer cooked the beans and everyone brought dishes to share. It was a fun evening.

Lisa Dolling did a great job fixing Joe’s fence Sunday!

Lee and Mary Sue Shearer went to Sonora to help Jean (Lee’s sister) and Harvey Hickey celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary on July 4th. It was held at the home of Chris and Tracy Hickey. All four of Jean and Harvey’s children (and spouses) were there, 14 of their 16 grandchildren were in attendance and four of the six great-grandchildren were there. PFC Robbie Hickey came from Ft. Drum, New York, where he is an Infantry Team leader of the Airborne Rangers. Private Rand Kavanaugh stopped in on his way to Griefswald, Germany. He is with the 173 Airborne Unit specializing in mortars. It was fun to see the youngest cousins play in the pool.
